The Lawson Community Garden Collective has been informed by the City of Saskatoon that the proposed location in Rochdale Park has been rejected and that Umea Park, next to the Hindu temple, has been chosen as the site for the new garden. There are still details to be worked out but the City says the garden is supported by the Hindu Society and neighbouring Bethany Manor. The size of the garden and precise locations may change from the sketch below.
Twenty-seven applications for garden plots have been received and the Garden Collective remains hopeful that ground can be broken and planting can occur this spring. Further details will be posted as they become available. The community garden web page has addition information.
